Now that May has arrived, Spring is in full swing across the Northern Hemisphere. In Texas, that means one thing and one thing only: bluebonnets! Our state flower abounds this time of year, making long road trips much less monotonous by lining the highways with its beautiful blooms. Despite its prevalence all across Texas, there's one place where you can see more wildflowers than anywhere else: Willow City Loop near Fredericksburg. It truly is a magical sight.

This remote country road is teeming with wildflowers as far as the eye can see this time of year.

The entire 13-mile stretch is lined with the beautiful blue blossoms as well as absolutely breathtaking reds, yellows, and purples that are some of the most vibrant colors you've ever seen.

It's the perfect backdrop for family photos - every Texan knows it's tradition to pose amidst the bluebonnets! The surrounding creeks and hills make for incredibly picturesque scenery.

This area has one of the highest concentrations of wildflowers in the entire country, which should come as no surprise after looking at these pictures.

To access the road from Fredericksburg, head north on State Route 16 until you reach Willow City, then go east on Ranch Road 1323 for three miles until coming up on the sign for Willow City Loop.
