Open a few select months a year (usually June - September), the Landa Aquatic Center in New Braunfels is a summertime favorite.

A historic destination near the Comal River, this popular locale features three pools perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day.

Among these refreshing oases is a spring-fed pool widely considered to be the oldest in Texas. It's also considered the best swimming hole in Texas. Built in the early 1900s, this little blue-green slice of heaven remains a glorious 72 degrees year-round.

One end of the pool features an exhilarating, two-story slide known as the "Wet Willie." Nearby, a smaller slide and mushroom fountain in shallow waters allow the little ones to have a blast like everyone else.

A zero-depth and Olympic pool offer somewhat warmer temperatures, which is especially beneficial towards the beginning or end of summer. Hop between the three swimming spots to find your favorite, then float the day away and leisurely splash around.

Other amenities include a playground, picnic tables, and paddle boat rides. There's so much fun to be had!
