These 9 Bugs Found In Texas Will Send Shivers Down Your Spine

Describes nine of the most terrifying insects found in Texas.

What's that scuttling noise? Did something just run over my foot?

They lurk in the shadows, hide in nooks and crannies where you'll never find them (but they'll find you easily) and make your life miserable with their mere existence. Here are 9 of the most vile creepy-crawlies in the state of Texas.

1. Blister Beetles

Doesn't this guy look friendly? Although harmless, they can leave nasty blisters all over your body by just spitting on you. This is a creature I'd rather not mess with.

2. Rat-tailed maggots

At first glance, these could pass for miniature potatoes with sprouts...until they start moving. Their name doesn't even begin to describe the horror of their existence.

3. Daddy Long Legs

If this awful creature couldn't get any more spine-tingling...here's a picture of a colony of them. You're welcome.

4. Scorpions

We're all familiar with these guys here in Texas. He's kinda cute, isn't he?

5. Texas-sized centipedes?

Everything is bigger in Texas...including our bugs.

6. Lichen Orb Weaver

This giant thing is a spider. Apparently, when they fall over, they can't get back up because their bodies are too big.

7. Good ol' roaches

I had the pleasure of experiencing an infestation of these fellas a few years ago. Not fun.

8. Black Widow

Watch out for these guys. They may be small, but they can be deadly as well. If you see a red marking, stay away!

9. Brown Recluse

If you've seen Arachnophobia, you know not to get near these uglies.

If you need me, I'll be hiding under my sheets...for the rest of my life. Do these bugs send shivers down your spine? What other creepy insects can be found in Texas? Let me know in the comments below!
