Even in a drought year, South Dakota's lakes are welcome spots to visit during a hot, summer day. We have tons of lakes to choose from here, but there's one in particular that you should definitely plan to visit before summer is over.
Ravine Lake is located right in downtown Huron, at 800 Easy Street.
Ravine Lake is a popular spot for fishing. It's stocked with catfish, walleye, pike and crappie.
Take a stroll on the pathway around the lake. The entire trail is just .8 miles, and it's all paved, so it's perfect for everyone.
Cross the little bridge to visit the island.
You can rent the gazebo on the island for a wedding or special occasion.
You can spend the entire day playing on the beach here.
Visit Putters & Scoops for food and ice cream. They also have rentals and a mini golf course.
You're definitely going to want some SDSU ice cream - the best in the state!
Sit on the patio and enjoy some beautiful lake views while you eat your ice cream.
Rent a paddleboat for just $7/hour and explore the lake with a friend.
You can also rent a kayak here for just $7/hour.
Play a round of mini golf right by the lake. 18 holes will cost you just $4.25.
