This Winter Wonderland Is The Most Magical Place In South Dakota
One of South Dakota's most enchanting traditions is the Main Street Square ice rink in Rapid City. You don't want to miss out on this fun holiday venue!
Rapid City's Main Street Square is charming all year long, but at Christmastime it turns into a winter wonderland.
The lighting ceremony and opening day of the ice rink took place on November 25th. Visit now to see the beautiful Christmas tree and twinkle lights.
It's not the holidays until you've been skating on the rink here. Skate seven days a week from now until the weather becomes too warm to maintain the ice.
Hours vary, depending on the day of the week. Click here for the public skate times.
New to skating? Grab a helmet and an ice walker to help you along - they're free of charge.
On Friday, December 1st from 5 PM to 9 PM, join your friends for the Ugly Sweater Party. There will be an ugly sweater contest, prizes and live entertainment.
The Lights on the Ice, sponsored by HOT 93.1, is an event for teens with dance music and colorful lights. This year it's held on Friday, December 15th from 5 PM to 9 PM.
