The loop can be taken in an hour and a half, but almost no one will finish that quickly because there's so much to stop and see.

The Badlands are full of scenic overlooks - 16 of which are along this highway - which are the perfect photo-op.

From mountain goats to bison and eagles, there's plenty of wildlife to come across. Beware - they may be crossing the highway.

This otherworldly drive is highly underrated, and the mountains truly come to life during sunrise.
