Everyone In South Dakota Should Visit This Epic Mineral Spring As Soon As Possible
The town of Hot Springs, South Dakota didn't get its name just out of the blue. One of their main and most well-loved attractions is a natural mineral spring that has been transformed into one of the best places to swim in the entire state, open year round. This place has been around longer than any other attraction in the Black Hills and it never gets old.
Jump into these pure, toasty warm waters for the perfect swim:
The Evans Plunge mineral springs has been a local favorite for decades.
The history of the springs goes back quite a way.
You can see on the sign above that this place has a pretty neat history, and also unique water. Even though it may look like a normal pool, it is one of the only one of its kind. Many indoor pools are full of chemicals like chlorine and others, but this one is all natural and very healthy for your skin.
The pool is indoors, allowing it to be open year round. No heaters are needed to keep the water warm, though, that happens naturally.
The water is at a constant 87 degrees, making it a comfortable temperature for all. It's great for relaxation while also being totally safe for people of all ages to swim in. The flooring of the pool is river rock, adding to the natural ambience of the water.
While many people enjoy a casual swim just to soak up the mineral water, there's plenty to do here for everyone.
Evans Plunge is loaded with fun stuff to do for everyone, included a variety of slides, depths, and even hanging rings to swing across the water. You'll be ready to spend hours here to just unwind and kids never want to leave!
There is also an outdoor pool - full of the same mineral water - that is open seasonally.
All year round, Evans Plunge is just a blast to visit! Indoors or out, hot weather or cold, it is great for a swim.
Evans Plunge is located at 1145 North River Street, Hot Springs, SD. During the winter they are open every day of the week except Tuesdays. For more information, click here.
