This Swimming Spot Has The Clearest, Most Pristine Water In South Dakota

Cascade Falls in South Dakota is a beautiful and popular swimming hole with crystal-clear water and natural surroundings.

It should come as no surprise that one of the most beautiful and best swimming holes in South Dakota is known as Cascade Falls. On a warm day, this gorgeous area is the perfect place to jump in and enjoy the cool, relaxing, and crystal-clear water that gently flows and pours over waterfalls.

Cascade Falls has been used as a public swimming hole for over a century. The water originates from Cascade Springs about two miles upstream, constantly replenishing the pool with clean, pristine water.

The warm mineral water gently makes its way over the rugged rocks and through the lush plants along the sides.

At the end of the falls is one of the best swimming areas in South Dakota. The bright turquoise water is usually around a comfortable 65 degrees and perfect for a summer dip.

The water has a variety of depths so anyone can swim in it at their level, including shallow areas perfect for kids to enjoy safely.

With the natural beauty around it and the relaxing water and sounds of the falls, it is truly a one-of-a-kind paradise hidden in South Dakota.

Note: Like most swimming lakes in South Dakota, Cascade Falls has its fair share of rattlesnakes and poison ivy, so keep your eyes peeled while you're in the area.

You can find Cascade Springs about eight miles south of Hot Springs, South Dakota. It is open to the public, so feel free to visit any time. Trust me — you'll want to visit this place over any concrete swimming pool every time.

There's no doubt this is one of the best swimming holes in South Dakota.
