The Epic Outdoor Food Fest In South Carolina You Simply Cannot Miss

The end of the summer season marks a unique turning point in South Carolina. Once the steady stream of annual visitors (whom we love, don't we?) slows down things go back to normal for a short while before the start of the holiday season. And this creates the perfect moment to spend some time outside at a festival that delivers a feast from the ocean.

The Little River Shrimpfest fits the bill!

Located on the historic waterfront, this tasty festival is a perfect way to spend a fall day chowing down on some of the best seafood you'll ever get at a festival.

With more than 150 vendors including food and arts and crafts, this event is the highlight of the fall season in this little fishing community.

The setting is just okay - if you LOVE historic waterfronts that have Live Oaks dripping in Spanish Moss.

But really, it's the food that draws people here each October.

In addition to the huge shrimp and seafood feast, you'll also find traditional fair food. C'mon it's not like you eat it every single day, right?

Come hungry, because you know you're probably not leaving until you've sunk your teeth into a giant turkey leg!

Or some BBQ Chicken right off the grill. Yum! I'll have one please!

For sure, there is plenty to eat and drink at this epic food festival.

If you time it right you could probably stay long enough to chow down on two meals. Double your pleasure.

The arts and crafts vendors and the entertainment will give you plenty to do while you walk off your feast.

You'll find everything from handmade crafts for the upcoming Halloween season to Christmas decor.

The seafood festival is in its 13th year in Little River and has matured into quite a fun day for the whole family.

From the children's area to the two stages featuring live entertaiment, and of course the food, you certainly won't run out of things to do - in between meals!

And remember to save room for the festival's namesake. There's nothing like fresh shrimp on a cool fall day!

The Little River ShrimpFest takes place October 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and October 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Historic Little River Waterfront (4460 Mineola Ave., Little River, SC 29566).
