Leyden Farm Vineyard & Winery is a fantastic place to hang out. Located in West Greenwich, this peaceful place is known to be a great place not only to taste, but to enjoy great company and frequent special events. There's also an unspoken rule that most patrons seem to enjoy: If you visit, you must love dogs.
Leyden Farm Vineyard & Winery spent four generations as a Christmas tree farm.
Then, in 2010, the Leyden family became interested in making their own fruit-essence wines. They planted strawberries, blueberries, and grapevines among the trees.
Eventually, they graduated to red wines such as their Romeo's Red and American Merlot, and whites like Sunny's Grigio.
They also still make plenty of fruit wines.
Leyden Farm's wines are well-known around Rhody, and you'll spot them a mile away due to their creative labels.
Buying wine is easy, as it should be. Simply place your order online and pick it up -- or, if you order at least six bottles and live on Rhody's mainland, you can have it delivered.
Of course, we highly recommend coming to the tasting room and picking it up yourself.
If you're not overly familiar with the wine here, you'll love tasting it right at the source.
Currently, you can taste with a group of six or fewer indoors, in the yard, or on this cozy heated patio.
Due to current capacity limitations, the team has asked children to stay at home.
Luckily, there are no restrictions on canines -- and this winery is extremely dog-friendly.
In fact, there's a free roaming greeter dog named Eva cruising around the property, waiting to welcome new guests.
Leyden Farm offers daily tasting from noon - 4 p.m., with pick ups allowed until 5.
Bringing your dog isn't mandatory, but it's highly encouraged.
