We're pretty spoiled living in Rhode Island. After all, we're constantly surrounded by natural and manmade beauty. Discover some of the most beautiful water, for example, when you visit this pond in Rhode Island. It sits along a picturesque trail that's just perfect if you only have an hour or so but still want an adventure.
Spanning more than 14,000 acres, Arcadia Management Area provides an idyllic backdrop for exploration - from boating and horseback riding to hiking.
A short and sweet trail that measures just 1.6 miles, Browning Mill Pond & Tefft Hill Loop Trail will lead you along a gorgeous tree-lined boardwalk.
The trees provide an abundance of shade as you make your way to one of Rhode Island's most devastatingly gorgeous ponds.
Because it's predominately flat, the trail earns high marks from hikers with children.
Don't be too surprised if you run across muddy sections, especially if you're visiting after a rainfall. Keep an eye out for fallen tree branches, too, so you don't trip.
The trail travels around the pond, so you're guaranteed plenty of gorgeous views. You might even notice that, if the light hits it just right, Browning Mill Pond is a breathtaking blue.
It's also known for being exceptionally clean, and some hikers wade in the cool water when hiking during the summer.
The pond is also popular with boating and fishing. While the hike only takes between 30 minutes and an hour, you could spend an entire day hanging out by and on the pond.
Bring some food along, too, for a scenic picnic.
Plan your trip by checking out the Arcadia Management Area website.
