While filling up your calendar with leaf-peeping adventures, consider Ohiopyle Falls. We certainly have a ton to do in and around Pittsburgh admiring the fall foliage by cruising down the Three Rivers to ziplining through the trees. We can also drink in the fall colors near Pittsburgh by visiting this extraordinary place flanked by beautifully autumn-painted leaves.
Embark on a day trip to Ohiopyle State Park, just under an hour-and-a-half from downtown Pittsburgh and home to the breathtaking Ohiopyle Falls.
If you like waterfalls, you'll definitely want to see Ohiopyle Falls during the fall, winter, and spring.
Flanked by the colors of Pittsburgh in the fall, Ohiopyle Falls promises a picture-perfect backdrop for leaf peeping and snapping memorable photos
View the gushing waterfall which drops between 15 and 20 feet, from outdoor observation decks.
Or stop by the Visitors Center, where you can check out a different view of the falls from behind a large picture window.
After you've spent time at Ohiopyle Falls, consider checking out nearby Cucumber Falls or Jonathan Run Falls.
To get to Cucumber Falls, just drive to the Cucumber Falls parking lot. However, if you want to see Jonathan Run Falls, you'll set off on the 3.5-mile Youghiogheny River Trail.
Ohiopyle State Park also features plenty of other ways to admire the fall in Pittsburgh.
With 79 miles of hiking trails to scenic overlooks, something exquisite is available for viewing.
To view the waterfall from the visitor center, stop by between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven days a week, from April 16 to October 31, seven days a week; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday, Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.
The visitor center and office are closed on all state holidays.
