This wild animal sanctuary in Pennsylvania promises a unique adventure and an up close look at its nearly 300 residents.

Visitors are asked to respect the animals and their home by not shouting, throwing objects, teasing the residents, or smoking.

The carnivores of the sanctuary consume an estimated 12,000 pounds of meat each month, some of which is donated from local farmers when a cow or a horse dies from natural causes.

Tours of the wild animal sanctuary have finished for the 2016 season. However, guests can visit the enclosed aviary, where birds enjoy the freedom of flying freely, on select days this winter.

An estimated 300 birds - from parrots to parakeets - call the Free Flight Aviary, which opened in 2016, home.
