You Might Just Have A Slice Of Paradise To Yourself At Poe Valley State Park, A Secluded Beach In Pennsylvania

Poe Valley State Park in Pennsylvania offers a serene beach experience with various activities, making it a perfect summer destination.

Summer's probably the best time of the year to just kick back and relax. No matter our definition of paradise, we don't always have to travel to faraway lands to find it. In fact, you'll find plenty of slices of paradise right within our state's borders - like at this beautiful beach in Pennsylvania that will make you feel a million miles away.

Flanked by the massive Bald Eagle State Park, Poe Valley State Park spans just over 600 acres, promising a cozy setting among the lush forest trees.

While the park offers a full menu of activities, you won't find a better place to spend a summer day than at the sandy beach. Grab a spot on the soft sand, where you can...

Relax under the summer sun. When you're ready to cool down, head into the 25-acre Poe Lake, which measures five feet at its deepest point.

Although the beach doesn't have lifeguards, the swimming area is roped off, so be sure to stay within that space.

Bring along a picnic lunch, or stop by the snack bar. There, you'll find everything you need for a delicious bite to eat - from hot foods to ice cream.

Poe Lake is also popular with boaters. The park's boat rental office offers canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards.

The beach at Poe Valley State Park is generally open annually from the end of May through the beginning of September. Swimming is allowed from 8 a.m. to sunset.
