Summertime means sinking our teeth into the freshest fruits and vegetables, sometimes pulled straight from the plants. Even if we don’t have a green thumb, we can enjoy the deliciousness of the season by visiting one of the many farmers markets in the city and its suburbs. Terminal Farmers Market, the newest seasonal farmers market in Pittsburgh, is also well worth a visit.
Terminal Farmers Market in the Strip District made its debut in April 2021, and it welcomes vendors and shoppers the first and third Saturday of each month through October.
The final farmers market of the season is set for October 16, 2021.
Find a parking spot in the lot behind the terminal of the farmers market, the latter of which is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You might want to wear a pair of comfortable shoes, because you have a lot of space to cover. Vendors are both indoors and outdoors as shoppers are entertained by DJ Essay.
Vendors may vary, depending on when you visit. However, previous vendors have included 2XStrong Coffee, Botanical Vegan Café & Market, and Chocolate Fusion Candy.
Primrose Farm, Pip & Lola’s Everything Homemade, and Gosia’s Pierogies have also appeared at the farmers market.
All guests must follow some rules, due to the ongoing pandemic, when visiting Terminal Farmers Market. If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask.
If you’re eating food that’s been served by one of the vendors, keep a distance of at least six feet from other visitors that are not in your party.
Stop by the official website of Strip District Terminal for more information. Or, go here for Facebook.
