With more than 146,000 acres, Tiadaghton State Forest promises something to do for everyone, and there's so much to explore you can visit countless times and not see it all.

The massive state forest spans four counties - Tioga, Potter, Clinton, and Union - and is home to a few well-known hiking trails, too.

While mountain biking and horseback riding are both popular, one of the best ways to see the vast forest is on one of its hiking trails. You have more than 600 miles of trails from which to choose.

More than 50 miles of the 327-mile Mid State Trail and part of the popular Pine Creek Rail Trail wander through the forest.

If you're craving a much shorter challenge, set off on the 9.2-mile Golden Eagle Trail. From wildflowers to jaw-dropping vista views, it is a challenge worth accepting.

Hiking may be the best way to see most of the forest, but there's plenty more to do. If you've got an ATV, explore the 17 miles of trails.

Kayaking allows a different view of the stunning forest landscape.

You'll find so much to do at Tiadaghton State Forest that a day simply won't do, especially if you're up for an evening or two of primitive camping.

Tiadaghton State Forest welcomes guests all year round. Admire the fall foliage, and go snowmobiling or cross-country skiing after a fresh snowfall.
