If you don't live near Drums, you might not have heard of Nescopeck State Park, a 3,550-acre park that's brimming with natural beauty and a full menu of activities.

While the park is day-use only, you'll find so much that you can fill every hour. The park is open from dawn to dusk daily.

Although it measures just nine acres, Lake Frances draws those who enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The Pennsylvania state park is also home to Nescopeck Creek.

While kayaking and canoeing offer a unique view of the park, you can also get to know the landscape better on a scenic hike. Nine miles of trails wind their way through the state park.

If you're on the hunt for a chill adventure, walk around the lake or the creek, where you're sure to pass a variety of wildlife.

The park is also home to an environmental education center that hosts a variety of programs throughout the year.

Plan a visit in each season. You don't want to miss the spectacular display of fall foliage.

Bundle up on those snowy winter days for a scenic hike or, if you prefer, go cross-country skiing. Snowshoeing is also popular.
