Wildwood Park in Harrisburg promises something for everyone. Learn more about wildlife and nature at the Olewine Nature Center, which features exhibits and a gift shop.
Or, explore some of the more than 200 acres of Wildwood Park itself, home to wetlands, a plethora of wildlife, and a mile of boardwalk trails.
The half-mile Delta Boardwalk Trail and the half-mile North Boardwalk Trail in Pennsylvania promise an easy stroll for visitors of all ages and skill levels. Even better? Both are wheelchair accessible.
So, which will you explore? One or both? The North Boardwalk trail meanders along a half of a mile of marshy wetlands.
Stop at the viewing area at the end of the trail to view some of the local birds and wildlife. Then, turn around to return to the trailhead at Wildwood Way.
Or, admire the turtles sunning themselves as you wander along the Delta Boardwalk. The flat wooden trail leads to Wildwood Way.
Want to just take a deep breath and enjoy your surroundings? Sit on one of the strategically-placed benches along the boardwalk trails.
Wildwood Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Or, if you want to visit the Nature Center, too, visit Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
