Pennsylvania’s Asbury Woods Looks Like Something Out Of Oz
Our imagination can take us wherever we want to go - from faraway places to fairy tale settings, like the land of Oz. When you visit Asbury Woods in Pennsylvania, you might - every now and then - get a glimpse of a landscape that makes you feel like you've been transported to Oz. Even if you can't exactly see it, you definitely can't miss the breathtaking beauty that will surround you every step of the way.
Asbury Woods Nature Center, in Erie, is a nature lover's dream come true. With its many activities, including a play area for the kiddos and several beautiful trails, it's the perfect day destination.
Embrace the simple natural beauty of the more than 200 acres of land, dotted with lush forests, flowing streams, and sprawling fields.
You might not get to walk down the Yellow Brick Road, but you will have the chance to take a leisurely stroll along a tree-lined boardwalk.
The short Boardwalk Trail leads past beautiful fields of flowers in a variety of colors...
From bright yellow to calming lavender. (You probably won't find any of those red flowers that made Dorothy oh-so-sleepy.)
Keep an eye out, too, for a variety of wildlife - ducks, dragonflies, and turtles - that call the area home.
In the wintertime, when the grounds are sprinkled with snow, you can rent snowshoes or cross-country skis to explore the frozen landscape.
Asbury Woods also hosts programs throughout the year and has several self-guided activities, including geocaching, Pokemon Go, and a compass course.
