A Brand New Popup Park Has Arrived In Pittsburgh And It Will Take Summer To The Next Level

Summer's in full swing here in Pittsburgh, and we have no shortage of fun things to do - from trips to Kennywood and Sandcastle to meandering down the Three Rivers aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet. For a relaxing time along the river, you might also want to plan a visit to the brand new popup park in Pittsburgh. It offers something for everyone.

The westbound lanes of Fort Pitt Boulevard have gone from whisking traffic through the city to hosting Allegheny Overlook, a summertime popup park.

Boasting striking views of the river and PNC Park, Allegheny Overlook promises a full menu of activities - from live performances to oversized lawn games.

You'll also find some of the area's best food and drink available for purchase. Adults can kick back and relax at the beer garden, hosted by Brew Gentlemen of Braddock.

Bring an appetite with you, because you'll definitely want to check out the selection of food vendors on hand.

A full schedule of live performances will also take place throughout the summer. Those artists who are set to perform include Alecia Dawn and Kinstretch.

The kiddos will have a blast with the many oversized games. Connect Four, cornhole, and Giant Jenga are just a few of the games while bubble lawnmowers and giant Legos will delight the littlest visitors.

The park is open daily. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday and from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
