There's no better way to spend a hot summer afternoon than taking a dip in a beautiful swimming hole. There are several incredible swimming holes in Oregon to check out, although they're not always easy to find. While we like to keep many Oregon swimming holes a secret, we want to share at least a few of our favorites that definitely deserve a spot on your bucket list. So, make sure to check out these eight little-known swimming holes that will positively blow you away.
8. Cavitt Creek Falls
This serene natural pool in Roseburg is fed by a beautiful waterfall. Cavitt Creek Falls Recreation Site is a great place to take a dip on a hot day.
7. Steelhead Falls
Steelhead Falls is an incredible waterfall on the Deschutes River near Terrebonne. After a short walk past the falls, you'll find a great little beach where you can swim.
6. Youngs River Falls
Swim in the basin of the beautiful Youngs River Falls in Clatsop County. This 50-foot waterfall cascades into a deep pool rimmed with a stoney beach. It is located south of Astoria.
5. Quartzville Creek
Quartzville Creek is a stunning tributary of the Santiam River. There are plenty of places to take a dip in the creek's turquoise water, including the popular swimming hole at the Yellowbottom Recreation Site.
4. Tamolitch Pool
Tamolitch Pool (AKA Blue Pool) is an incredible natural wonder on the McKenzie River. This gorgeous pool is an outstanding blue color and the water is very chilly but refreshing.
3. Lake of the Woods
Located in the Cascade range in Klamath County, this stunning lake is a perfect place to swim on a hot day in Southern Oregon.

Located near Eugene, Sharps Creek Recreation Site is a great spot to swim in the summer months.

Three Pools is arguably one of the best places to cool off on a hot day in Oregon. These three pristine natural pools are carved into interesting rock formations along the Little North Fork Santiam River. If you can, try to go on a weekday when it may be less crowded.
