Sand Station Recreation Area in Hermiston isn't very big. This small recreation area exists primarily for swimming and general river access.

The views from this recreation area are fantastic.

And the beach itself is pretty nice. There are trees right along the beach that provide shade if you want it, but there's lots of space to lay out as if you're at the coast, too.

There are picnic tables for you to use and they have charcoal grills as well.

Of course, there's a public bathroom at this beach.
