Looking for the perfect lake for easy access to swimming, boating, hiking, bird watching, and all the other fun lakeside activities you can think of? Well, look no further than Lost Creek Lake! I can't wait to visit as lake swimming is one of my favorite things to do each summer.
Lost Creek Lake is a reservoir along the Rogue River that was built by the Army Corps of Engineers. The William L. Jess Dam, which created the lake, was built between 1967 and 1977.
This beautiful lake is surrounded by trees and provides the perfect spot for a day on the water or a weekend camping trip.
Tons of recreational activities can be enjoyed at this wonderful lake, which is about 35 miles from Medford.
Multiple public parks are available for use around the lake. These include River’s Edge Park, McGregor Park and Visitor Center, and Joseph Stewart County Park.
Around the lake you will find public access areas, parks, boat ramps, swimming spots, camping areas, and 30 miles of scenic trails.
Boating and tubing are popular here, as are canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and kayaking.
There are plenty of good spots to jump in for a swim.
Life jackets are available to borrow for free at the Joseph H. Stewart State Park boat ramp and the Takelma Park boat ramp during the summer months.
RV camping and other camping facilities are popular at Joseph Stewart County Park.
For more information about Lost Creek Lake, visit the Corps Lakes Getaway Lost Creek Lake, Recreation.gov Lost Creek Lake, and Joseph Stewart County Park Lost Creek Lake websites. If your visit to the lake includes a drive, you may want to stock up on car-friendly snacks and/or bring a lunch to enjoy at one of the picnic areas.
