We fall more and more in love with Oregon's charming family farms with every fall festival we visit. Here's a harvest festival that offers all the usual activities, but it also has a main attraction that's a real blast. No really...it's actually a blast!
Fort Vannoy Farms is a beautiful farm in Grant's Pass that grows corn and other vegetables, barley, and more. You'll find the farm at 5791 Lower River Rd., Grants Pass, OR 97526.
The Fall Harvest Festival kicked off on October 2nd and runs throughout the month. You can visit the farm every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to enjoy fun fall activities in the fresh air.
There's so much to do at this farm! Start by picking the perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch...
...then navigate the 8-acre corn maze...
...play in the corn bin...
...get your face painted...
...go for a hayride...
...and, if you dare, take a ride on the zip line.
There are so many opportunities for Instagram-worthy photos here, that you'll want to make sure you bring your camera. Once you see the main attraction here, you'll also want to have your phone ready to take some video.
The Pumpkin Chunker is a blast! Really. It's literally a blast.
It starts with a pile of pumpkins. Choose your pumpkin, and the attendant will load the cannon. Manipulate the cannon to the exact degree you desire. When you're ready, you'll push a big, red button and the cannon will blast the pumpkin across the field at the target (an old broken-down vehicle). It makes an incredibly satisfying *smash*!
