Beaver Dunes Park is known as "Oklahoma's Bermuda Triangle" due to strange disappearances that have occurred here over the years. Take a look at the sinister story behind this popular Oklahoma park, and be prepared: it will give you chills. Shaman's Portal, Oklahoma is undoubtedly one of the creepiest urban legends in Oklahoma.
Beaver Dunes State Park is located in Oklahoma's panhandle region on US Hwy 270 in Beaver, Oklahoma. It's situated on over 300 acres of sand hills in an area known as "No Man's Land."
The park's paranormal history dates back to the 1500s when men traveling with the explorer Coronado disappeared from the dunes with bizarre flashes of what seemed like green lightning.
Native Americans tried warning Coronado about the perils of the dunes, as they had been avoiding the area for centuries.
He lost several men in an instant likely because he didn't heed the warnings. He recorded the events and details in his journals, but it wasn't revealed until centuries later.
Over the years, many more lives have been lost to these eerie-but-beautiful dunes without explanation.
It's become knowns as "Oklahoma's Bermuda Triangle" or "Shaman's Portal in Oklahoma", thought by many to be a literal portal in the sand dunes of Oklahoma.
Many theories exist on what is causing these disappearances and flashes of green light, one of which is that this was the location of a UFO crash site at some point.
Visitors camping in the park have reported seeing mysterious military-looking people digging in the middle of the night.
Many more strange reports have surfaced over the years - enough to send archeologists and investigators to this "haunted" area!
