Don’t Let Summer Pass You By Without A Swim In This Refreshing Oklahoma Creek

Pennington Creek in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, offers a beautiful and free swimming spot with cool water and sandy beaches.

There's nothing like a swim in a freshwater creek on a hot summer day. Luckily, we have some gorgeous ones to choose from in the Sooner State and one of my favorites is Pennigton Creek in Tishomingo. It's known for its cool running water that pours over a dam creating a small waterfall.

Check it out below:

Pennington Creek Park is home to a beautiful secluded creek in the town of Tishomingo. You can find the park at 400 South Capitol Avenue.

The park boasts over 15 beautiful acres and is open to the public. In fact, it's free to swim in this lovely creek.

You'll find a small dam that creates the perfect swimming hole with crisp, cool water.

It's also a great swimming hole because the sides of the creek have sandy beaches.

Bring your chairs and towels and spend the whole day enjoying the fresh waters of Oklahoma.

Plus, there are full amenities for RV camping with restrooms and showers if you wish to extend your day trip to an overnight adventure.

Have you ever swam in Pennington Creek? If so, what did you think about it? It's conveniently located close to the historic Chickasaw Nation Capitol Museum, two blocks south on Capitol Street in Tishomingo. For more information, click here.
