If you're searching for outdoor activities for the kids this summer, head to Natural Falls State Park and take them on an easy 1-mile hike to a gorgeous waterfall. It looks like a setting out of a movie, and it's the perfect hike for kids of all ages.
Natural Falls State Park is located in the Ozark Highlands of Oklahoma and is home to one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. You can find this gorgeous park on Hwy 412 West in
West Siloam Springs.
The waterfall is easily accessible by the Dripping Springs Trail — a looped trail that is just under a mile round trip.
You'll travel through breathtaking scenery on your way to the falls with a great amount of shade, so it's the perfect hike on summer days.
The trail will lead you to views above and below the falls, but to get down on the lower level you'll need to walk down 88 steep steps.
Not only will you get to explore a 77-foot waterfall, but there's streams, creeks, foliage, and wildlife along the way too.
No swimming is allowed in the falls but the mist will cool you down on a hot day.
There's also a steel and wooden bridge high above the valley that you'll get to walk over on your hike. It's always a favorite spot for the little ones.
The fee to enter Natural Falls State Park is only $5 per vehicle, so gather the kids and take this incredible hike 7 days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
