Butterfly Papilion At Honor Heights Park Of Oklahoma Is Home To The State’s Largest Butterfly House
Visit the Butterfly Papilion at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee for an up-close experience with over 26 native butterfly species.
One of my favorite things to do in the spring and summer is to visit the Butterfly Papilion at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee. It's the largest butterfly house in the state, and you can visit starting the Saturday before Mother's Day weekend. There are over 26 varieties of butterflies that are native to Oklahoma, and as you stroll through the open-air attraction, they'll fly all around you.

The Papilion Butterfly House is an open air sanctuary with over 26 butterflies native to Oklahoma. It's located at the northwest corner of Honor Heights Park in Muskogee.
The gardens open in
early Spring and the Papilion opens the Saturday before Mother's Day until September 30. If you visit during April, you can view over 30,000 azaleas at the annual Azalea Festival at the park.
The garden house is a Georgia-Pacific butterfly house that is surrounded by gorgeous flowers during the spring and summer months. As you walk around, butterflies fly right by you and some will even land on you.
There are over 26 native butterfly species in the house, including Sulphurs, Black Swallowtails, Zebra Longwings, and Monarchs.
Visitors love being able to interact with so many butterflies. It will quickly become your family's new favorite activity.
You'll see the amazing metamorphosis of butterflies hatching daily throughout the summer months. It's fascinating to learn all about butterflies and how they develop.
All the flora around the Butterfly Papilion attracts butterflies, so there are always new species to discover in the outdoors. There's no other place in Oklahoma where you can have such an up close and personal experience with butterflies as with this type of facility.
