Who says you can't have fun at the beach without water?! Keep scrolling below and I'll show you a unique beach in the heart of OKC where you can sink your toes in the sand and have fun building sand castles. It's only open seasonally, so be sure to visit this "beachy" spot before summer is over.
For the fourth year in a row, Bricktown Beach is back with its large sand-filled outdoor beach area with umbrellas, lounge chairs, sand volleyball equipment, and outdoor games.
It's open seasonally from May 22 through September 15 and is located on the Third Base Plaza at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in downtown Oklahoma City.
The Bricktown Beach is free to enter and is open to the public 24 hours a day.
Grab the sunscreen, towels, and flip-flops and relax under the sun, while enjoying some beach volleyball and cornhole.
The volleyball area is surrounded by a boardwalk, and is the focal point of the beach. It provides hours of entertainment for the whole family.
It's the perfect spot to grab a snow cone or scoop of ice cream and sink your feet in the sand.
If you have little ones, bring along the sand castle toys and let them build away.
There are also lots of tables, umbrellas, and games if you want to admire the sand from a distance. Grab some food at a nearby restaurant and enjoy a day at Bricktown Beach.
Another fun attraction in Bricktown is the water taxi that takes riders along the Bricktown Canal for tours. It's about a 45 minute tour and is narrated along the way by the Water Taxi Ambassador. Click here to read more about this enjoyable activity in the heart of Downtown OKC.
