You’re Going To Love These Predictions About Ohio’s Mild Upcoming Winter

Ohioans just might be pleasantly surprised this winter if The Old Farmer's Almanac predictions for the 2017 - 2018 winter season prove to be true. With lower than normal temperatures and the snowiest period beginning in early to mid-December, Ohioans could experience a winter season that gives us what we always long for—bearable temperatures and a white Christmas.

With seemingly unpredictable snowfall and fluctuating temperatures, winter is typically the time of the year that many Ohioans dread the most.

If you're in the northern portion of Ohio, you can typically expect plenty of snowfall. And the southern half of Ohio rarely experiences a white Christmas.

This year, however, The Old Farmers Almanac predicts temperatures warmer than normal across the entire state, with the snowiest periods beginning in early to mid-December.

Differences are predicted between northern and southern Ohio regarding snowfall amounts and snowiest periods, however.

For the Lower Lakes region, (which includes the Akron, Cleveland, Dayton, Parma and Toledo areas), "slightly above-normal precipitation" is predicted, with "above-normal snowfall."

According to the Farmer's Almanac, the coldest periods are predicted to be early to mid-December, early January and mid-February, while the snowiest periods are predicted to be early to mid-December, late December, early January and early February.
