Here in Ohio, we're fortunate to have an abundance of scenic hikes and nature trails. The Heritage Park Primitive Waterfront Trail in Cincinnati features close views of the Great Miami River. It's a gorgeous area to explore when you need to get away from it all for an hour or two. A little oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it easily feels like uncovering a best kept secret.

You'll trek right along the water when you take the Heritage Park Primitive Waterfront Trail. It's a beautiful escape from the city.

You'll find it along E Miami River Road in Cincinnati, Ohio.

With plenty of places to stop and splash in the river, it's a fun family hike to take with kids. There's even a canoe and kayak drop-in.

Note: AllTrails rates this hike as moderate.

This 1.6-mile loop trail mostly follows a dirt path, but's well cleared so it's not too challenging to navigate.
