You May Not Like These Predictions About Columbus’s Freezing Cold Upcoming Winter
It might be 90 degrees here in Columbus as we get ready to head into October, but what does that say about our winter? According to the Farmer's Almanac, this recent heat wave is not likely to last much longer. Read on to learn more about the winter predictions for Columbus.
The Farmer's Almanac is predicting that Columbus will get a cold winter.
Before you get too upset, remember that regular cold is not the same as a Polar Vortex cold (like we had two winters ago), so it shouldn't get too unbearable.
The predictions also state that we will have average snowfall and average precipitation.
Columbus typically doesn't get too wet during the winter. With average snowfall you're likely to get enough snow to enjoy your favorite winter activities, but not so much that you can barely dig out your car every morning.
The coldest periods will likely happen in early- to mid-December, late December, early January, and early- and mid-February.
December will be here before you know it, so make sure you're ready with snow boots, scarves, and warm lattes!
The predictions also say that the snowiest periods will probably come in mid-December, early February, and mid-March.
It seems likely Columbus always sees a snowy March, doesn't it? But hey, more time to enjoy winter outdoors activities!
To sum it up, it will be cold, but it won't be too wet.
As long as you're dressed properly, you can always have a good time sledding, skiing, building snowmen and snow castles, or just hiking and enjoying the gorgeous snowy views!
