The Boardwalk Trail at Maumee Bay State Park in Oregon, Ohio is a one-of-kind trail that will take you on an unforgettable journey. The Boardwalk Trail is arguably the best trail to hike at Maumee Bay State Park. (However, with beautiful views of Lake Erie, every trail here is worth exploring.)
You'll find it at 1400 State Park Rd., Oregon, OH 43616.
The Boardwalk Trail is a 2.2-mile loop, so it's perfect for a short day hike when you only have a few hours to explore.

Although many parts of the trail are shaded by groves of trees, you'll also get some stunning wide-open views as well.
As an added bonus, the entire trail is wheelchair accessible.
What makes this trail especially unique is the fact that it traverses swamp and marsh wetlands.
You'll also find some stunning wildflowers along the trail in the spring.
This trail is best explored in April - October, but it's beautiful year-round. The coastal environment here makes this one of the most unique hiking destinations in Ohio.
