You May Not Like These Predictions About North Dakota’s Positively Frigid Upcoming Winter
With another summer coming to a close, heads in North Dakota are turned toward the upcoming winter season. The Old Farmer's Almanac has just released their predictions for the incoming 2016-2017 winter weather for North Dakota - and you're not going to be pleased.
Brace yourself this winter for much colder temperatures than last year.
The average January temperature in North Dakota is 23 during the day and just two degrees at night.
There's also less-than-good news about the amount of snow to expect.
Snowfall in North Dakota usually averages 50 inches per winter season, according to Climate Data.
During the upcoming winter season, we can expect to see more than the average amount of snowfall.
That, coupled with the colder weather than last year will make for an extra harsh winter all the way from the Great Plains to the Red River Valley and, well...everywhere.
Further, all the snow and the colder temps mean the upcoming spring thaw...
could be monumental.
It's not the news you may have wanted to hear, but it's nice to know upfront what's ahead.
The Old Farmer's Almanac was founded in 1792 and has been making predictions ever since. They say their track record for accuracy is approximately 80-percent. That's enough to bank on.
How much snow will North Dakota actually see this winter? The answer to that question remains to be seen. But at least with the predictions from the Old Farmers Almanac, it won't come as a surprise.
