Welcome to Currituck Banks Reserve, a beautiful area of North Carolina that's a bit out of the way for most people to get to. Once you're here, though, you're treated to true, natural beauty: fresh water inlets, unbothered beaches, and plenty of wildlife.

One easy way to enjoy the reserve is to take the Currituck Banks Reserve Trail, an out-and-back path that is under a mile long, but showcases a lot of the area's beauty.

Though there's a slightly longer version of the trail, this boardwalk is easy to hike and lets you take your time just watching everything around you.

The trails out here are easy to navigate and don't take much time, and they bring you right to the water. Out here, things are simple and quiet, save for the sound of nature around you.

Currituck Banks is just stunning, through and through. These areas of undisturbed shoreline are rare, compared to the well-used beaches we're used to.

Make sure when visiting, that you bring everything back with you that you took to the area. Even food scraps can change how the local ecosystem works in some ways. Be mindful and take lots of photos!
