As spring gets into full swing, it's time to get out breathe some fresh air. North Carolina has plenty of outdoor activities, and some of the best won't cost you a cent. Here's one we think you'll love. Put your wallet away, but get your camera out...you're going to want some photos!
The Botanical Gardens at UNC Charlotte are located at 9041-9051 Craver Road in Charlotte. Admission to this beautiful oasis is free!
Wandering amongst the plants, trees and flowers will make you feel calm and relaxed.
You'll love the dinosaur garden. It takes you right back to the Jurassic era, with lush ferns and greenery...and a resident carnivore!
Spend some time sitting quietly in this garden.
If you're very still and quiet, you'll likely see some wildlife.

The orchid room is full of colorful blooms. Some orchids bloom throughout the year, but the best time to see this room is during winter months, when the greatest number of orchid species is in full regalia.
You'll also find little bits of art sprinkled in amongst the plants and flowers.
The Asian Garden is delightful.
Visit the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens seven days a week.
The grounds are open every day from dawn to dusk. The greenhouse is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
