The North Carolina Waterfall Hike That’s Beautiful But Deadly
The landscape of North Carolina is undeniably beautiful and lends itself to all kinds of adventure. Big Bradley Falls in Saluda is just one of many hikes that showcases the exquisite outdoors, although this waterfall hike isn't without its risks. While taking caution is necessary in any outdoor venture, it seems as though this trail has a particularly high danger associated with it. Here's more on the hike itself and the heartbreaking losses it has procured:
Among residents and visitors of North Carolina, Big Bradley Falls is known for its gorgeous trails and the iconic 75-foot waterfall.
In addition to its pristine beauty, the site also has a reputation for tragic accidents.
Just last weekend, a man by the name of Lance Healy was hiking with his daughters when he fell from Lookout Point.
The roots around this point in the hike can make for very difficult footing, even for the most experienced of hikers.
Despite a prompt response to the emergency call, Healy could not be saved after the 100-foot fall.
His along with the lives of seven others who have fallen since 2000 continue to be mourned within the community.
The Falls can be accessed via Cove Creek in Saluda, North Carolina.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and families of any individual effected by the tragedies that have resulted from such accidents. While Big Bradley Falls is certainly beautiful, please remember to hike with the utmost caution if you choose to visit.
