This Is The Newest State Park Near Buffalo And It’s Incredible
Delphi Falls County Park in Madison County, New York, offers scenic views, waterfalls, and ADA accessible trails.
We're currently in that beautiful stretch of the year where our fall foliage is still lingering on and going outside isn't a painfully freezing cold process. If you've been looking to make use of the days before they become any shorter and want to take one last road trip before the roadways are filled with snow, then visiting New York's newest park might be exactly what you need!
Take the scenic drive out to Madison County and you'll get the chance to discover the newest park to open up in our state.
Delphi Falls County Park was only acquired by the county back in May, spending the entire summer working on the property to get it ready for visitors.
The county park is easily accessible to those who come to visit, with plenty of parking available and even an ADA accessible nature trail.
The entire park covers a total of 60 acres, with an old charming barn on the land as well as a house that has the most breathtaking view of what the park has to offer.
The lower falls of the park are currently the only accessible area to explore, but in the near future, the county plans to extend the trail even further so you can reach views like this of the upper falls area that's tucked away in the woods.
Open all year long from dawn until dusk, make the trip out to the area of Cazenovia to see why this new park has quickly become so popular to visit.
With not one, but two waterfalls featured in this park, you may be wondering why it took so long for the county to get its hands on this property. Before Spring 2018, the property was actually owned by a former Syracuse University Professor. Selling the land for a mere fraction of what he paid for it, Professor Harold Jones decided it was time to share these natural wonders with the rest of our state - and we couldn't be more thankful!
Delphi Falls County Park is located at 2006 Cardner Rd., Cazenovia, NY 13035. To find out more information about the park, click here.
