This One Easy Hike In Buffalo Will Lead You Someplace Unforgettable

Looking for an easy hike with big reward? Lace up your sneakers and get ready to get your steps in as you discover Buffalo's Outer Harbor on the Greenway Nature Trail!

The Greenway Trail is a great spot for bird-watching, bicycling, walking, jogging, or just a leisurely stroll with friends and four-legged family members (on a leash, please). Bring your camera and plan your trip around the sunset to catch beautiful glimmering views off Lake Erie.

Most of the trail is directly adjacent to the waterfront, allowing visitors the opportunity to take in the views while they get some fresh air. In the summer months, the Greenway Trail is a popular spot for afternoon strolls and post-work walks.

If you're looking for a shorter trip, opt for the 1-mile Wilkeson Point trail or extend your visit with a combination of the paths and loops available along the Outer Harbor! Pack a picnic lunch and stay a while to really take in the views of the Outer Harbor, grain elevators, and windmills.

While there are plenty of walking routes to choose from, the best part of the Greenway Trail is the unique option that leads to a dirt extension to the "Industrial Trail," which brings you up close and personal with remnants of Buffalo's industrial past. If you're lucky, you might even find some hidden treasures along the path!
