You Won’t Want To Miss This Epic Sandcastle Festival On The New Jersey Coast

It doesn't get much better than summer in New Jersey. Days on the beach will turn to nights on the boardwalk, we'll head from the bar to the arcade and play game after game of Skee-Ball. And, we can't forget about all the fun summer festivals in New Jersey on the shore! There are countless art festivals but not many like this New Jersey Sandcastle Contest.

Belmar is a beautiful Central Jersey Shore town. The town's name means "beautiful sea" in Italian.

It is a popular surfing destination and also has an active skating community.

The town is also known for its nightlife. D'Jais is an iconic spot that offers extended happy hours and live music.

Festivals only add to the fun. Check out the annual seafood festival, kite festival, or fall festival.

But there's one festival you definitely won't want to miss - the annual Sand Castle Contest in New Jersey.

There are hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators that participate every year.

There are a variety of categories, based on age. Anyone can participate!

You'll find all sorts of whimsical and unique creations.

Each is a work of art but some sculptures are VERY impressive!

The event is free and offers more than spectacular sand art - enjoy food, music, giveaways, and more.

An annual tradition for over two decades, the 2024 New Jersey Sandcastle Contest will take place on July 17. Sculpting starts at 8 a.m. and judging will start at noon. Have you been before?
