The Top Secret Beach In New Hampshire That Will Make Your Summer Complete

While every day may not feel exactly like summer just yet, we know that the warmer days are just around the corner. And with them, comes lots of beach days filled with swimming. Most of the time we head to Hampton, but the idea of fighting crowds for a tiny spot isn't always ideal. So, we've been searching for some other options. Lake are great, but this secret beach might just be our new favorite!

Odiorne Point State Park is the site of the Pannaway Plantation, which was the first European settlement in New Hampshire.

Visitors will also find the Seacoast Science Center, an educational with aquariums and touch tanks meant to help visitors understand the local ecology.

All of these things are great, but what most people don't realize is that it's also where you'll find one of the best secret beaches in the state!

While it's true that much of the coast here is rocky, if you search just a bit you'll find a wonderful sandy area perfect for a day at the beach.

At first glance you might assume that the fishy smell of the Piscataqua is all that's in store for you. But keep walking along the path and you'll be met with the sand beachgoers crave.

The beach here, known as "Pirate's Cove," is large enough for laying or sitting in chairs, though the water won't be great for swimming.

While it's a bit warmer than in the actual ocean, it's shallow so you'll just want to get your legs wet.

While this pristine area is wonderful, it's important to keep in mind that you won't have access to toilets or snacks.

Port-a-potties are located in the parking lot and snacks will need to you brought in with you.

But, the benefits of visiting this secret beach are plenty and we know we'll be making at least a few trips here this summer.
