There's certainly nothing more wonderful than a day outside in New Hampshire. From mountains to lakes, fields to forests there's beauty around every corner. Some of our favorites are the trails with fun features. A great example is this hike with bridges in New Hampshire. With some elevation gain, this is a great option for beginner hikes looking for a bit of a challenge. Or, simply for those who love a bit of an adventure!
The Cohos Trail is a beautiful outdoor feature, but hiking the entire 107-mile route isn't on the top of everyone's bucket list.
Luckily, there are portions that are perfect for a day hike!
We love the 4.4-mile section that leads straight to the Bog Bridge. Undoubtedly, one of the most lovely ways to enjoy a day outside, this trail is a great way remember how much you love being here.
You'll start the hike just off of Route 3 in Pittsburg. The trail meanders through the woods and soon arrives at the Connecticut River.
Throughout the route there are multiple boardwalk-like bridges allowing for easier access over the wetlands.
Surprisingly the 800-foot Bog Bridge is believed to be the largest of its type in the northeast. Regardless of impressive facts, this is one scenic hike.
Of course, even without the bridges, the views along the way are incredible during any season.
And any hike with bridges in New Hampshire is fun.
Remember to look out for wildlife along the way. Hikers report seeing moose in this area!
The Cohos Trail is actually a 170-mile route from Crawford Notch to the Canadian border. This section of the trail can be found in the Connecticut Lake State Forest near Pittsburg.
