Walk Over A Bridge And Ogle Magnificent Old-Growth Trees On This Fairy Tale Trail In New Hampshire

There's something quite magical about hiking in the Granite State. You never know what you'll find along certain trails, whether it's a historical site, a waterfall, or a natural rock staircase. Today we are going to explore a fairy tale trail in New Hampshire that leads to a bridge and through an old-growth forest. It's a magnificent hike that you will want to add to your list immediately.

Located in Tamworth, New Hampshire, Big Pine Natural Area is home to a trail that holds some characteristics of what one would find in a fairy tale.

Take the Betty Steele and Peg King Spur Trails for an exciting adventure through the woods. These spur trails form a 2.4-mile loop that will take just under an hour and a half to complete.

Along the way, you'll stumble upon the Great Hill Fire Tower. Climb to the top for panoramic views of Big Pines Natural Area.

You will also have the opportunity to walk across an enchanting footbridge over the Swift River. From the bridge, you can look over the gorgeous gorge.

Most impressive of all here is the old-growth forest filled with towering Eastern white pine trees. Your jaw will drop when you see the height of some of these trees!

One tree, in particular, measures 150 feet tall and has a circumference of 15 feet. You won't believe it until you see it for yourself.
