Stonehouse Pond near Barrington offers a beautiful natural area perfect for exploring with friends, family, or all on your own.

Note: If you choose to do any hike alone, be sure to tell at least one person where you're going and when you expect to return.

Located within the Stonehouse Forest, the 1-mile loop is simple and easy to follow.

And despite the view, the elevation gain on this trail is minimal.

While the elevation gain is small, there are some steep areas so you'll want to take extra care here. Especially if the weather has been rainy as conditions can become slippery.

The area has a few different trails to try. The Ledges Trail leads to a phenomenal view, so be sure to check that out!

And if the view isn't a high priority, simply enjoy the route through the forest while taking in the visible portions of the lake.

We love this trail because it's often quiet. Expect the most people to be at the summit.
