The Rocks, located in Bethlehem, New Hampshire is a conservation and education center for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
It dates back to the 1800s when it was the summer home of businessman John Jacob Glessner and his family who lived in Chicago.
The home expanded and thrived for decades and in the 1970s, the Glessner grandchildren gave the Rocks to the Forest Society.
For more than three decades, that crop has been Christmas trees, and people come to The Rocks from near and far each year to find their perfect tree.
The only stipulation of this donation was that there must always be a crop on the property.
That crop has always been Christmas Trees!
Visitors are encouraged to hike the trails in the area year round.
But for an extra-special Christmas activity, take the easy, .8 mile Christmas Tree Trail.
The trail runs through the Christmas tree plantation and includes 15 special stops along the way sharing information about the lands history.
The trail is wonderful, but exploring the rest of the farm is wonderful as well. Get your tree, get some cocoa and load up on snacks!
