The Winter Horseback Riding Trail In Nevada That’s Pure Magic

Cowboy Trail Rides is a family-owned business that has been leading trail rides and horse-drawn-wagon rides for 13 years. The ranch is located just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, transporting you back a century to the "old west" in just a few miles drive.

One of the best things about Cowboy Trail Rides, aside from their friendly and experienced staff, is their lovely and good-natured horses.

You don't need to have any experience with horses. The staff will give you encouragement and advice on basic "steering" and handling.

There are several ride options through the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area.

One of their most amazing ride choices is the WOW Ride, which takes about 5 hours. The trail will take you deep into the canyon backcountry.

You will get to see all types of desert vegetation and cacti, and wildlife like the burros roaming free in the area. The ride also moves along several ridges and steep trails, making it more challenging for the beginning rider.

During the ride you'll get to stop for lunch and for several rest breaks where you can rest up, have a drink or a snack, hang out with your new equine companion and just enjoy the incredible views.

Some other popular rides include shorter destinations with views of Overlook Mountain, Coyote Canyon and the nearby Spring Mountains.

You can even see some truly incredible views of Las Vegas depending on the trail ride you choose. It's a strange yet delightful juxtaposition to see the sprawling city in the near distance while you ride on the mountain trails just as the early state settlers did years ago.

Another much loved ride is the Sunset BBQ ride, which includes a delicious cowboy BBQ at night by the fire. S'mores and marshmallows are included, of course, as well as meeting new friends around the campfire and listening to cowboy songs and stories.
