Enjoy A Secluded Stroll On A Little-Known Path In This National Monument

If you're looking to take a quiet hike where you won't have to encounter too many other hikers, you'll want to check out the Gold Butte Trail in Gold Butte National Monument in southern Nevada. This national monument is absolutely breathtaking, and it's less than three hours from Las Vegas. Yet, it is visited by fewer than 150,000 people annually. There are numerous excellent trails in this park and most people focus on the remote Little Finland part of the park, but the Gold Butte Trail is more accessible and an excellent choice for a stroll.

The Gold Butte Trail in Gold Butte National Monument is a wonderful place to spend a morning or afternoon.

Because this trail is in the desert, the best time of year to take it on is between January and March. No matter when you go, be sure to bring a lot of water along.

The entire loop is 7.6 miles in length, and it will take you about three hours to complete.
