Access to First Creek Swimming Hole begins at the First Creek Trailhead. This 3.6-mile out-and-back, relatively flat hike is great for all ages, and the gorgeous swimming hole with waterfall is well worth the effort.

This seasonal swimming hole near Spring Mountain Ranch (about 30 minutes west of Las Vegas) ranges from three to four feet deep with a breathtaking 18-foot waterfall that feeds the pool.

The depth and flow of the water is a result of snowpack, rainfall, and the seasons. As the area is prone to flash flooding, don't attempt to visit the area during stormy conditions. Conversely, when drought conditions are in effect, the pool becomes less swimmable.

The area is too shallow for diving, and there are large boulders surrounding the pool which are perfect for lounging and catching some sun.
