Pick Your Own Flowers At The Charming Valley View Flowers In Nebraska
Valley View Flowers in Albion, Nebraska, offers a unique and memorable flower-picking experience in a picturesque setting.
During spring in Nebraska, forget about picking up a plastic-wrapped bouquet at the grocery store for your sweetheart. Instead, make lifelong memories in a fairytale-like setting with a visit to Valley View Flowers. Nebraska flower farms like this one are rather rare. This wonderful little flower farm not only offers bright blooms; it's an experience you'll never forget and one of the best Nebraska flower farms around. Welcome to Valley View Flowers in Albion, Nebraska.
Nestled in the picturesque Beaver Valley, the tiny town of Albion is far removed from the troubles of big-city living. Out here, it’s all blue sky, fields stretching out into eternity, and the freshest air you’ve ever breathed.
This bucolic setting is where you’ll find Valley View Flowers, a U-pick flower farm that’s been operating since 2020. With more than a mile of flowerbeds, most of which are six feet wide, there’s an abundance of colorful blooms from which to choose.
Brad and Lori Warner began growing flowers as a hobby that they could share. After visiting a flower farm, they decided to expand that hobby into a nature-centric destination for everyone to enjoy. Their goal was to recreate the feeling of walking through grandma’s flower garden, and we think they’ve achieved just that.
After the farm’s first year, the couple more than doubled the size of the flower fields and added more structures. There are plans for many more exciting expansions and upgrades in the future. Eventually, the owners plan to make Valley View Flowers a tourist destination that attracts people from all over Nebraska and beyond.
The Warners' hay farm covers 18 acres overall, and the three fields of flowerbeds take up a small part of that. More than 70 types of flowers grow in those beds, but a trip to VVF is about so much more than simply picking a bouquet to take home.
Visiting this flower farm is more about sharing an experience in nature and creating lifelong memories. Whether you come by yourself or with family or friends, plan to spend plenty of time wandering through the flowerbeds.
You’ll start your visit at the house, where Brad and Lori will help you choose a canning jar to put your flowers in. They’ll tell you what flowers are in each field before putting some water in your jar, handing you a pair of clean scissors, and setting you loose to explore.
There are several structures on the property that are perfect for resting, visiting, and watching the ample wildlife. The She Shed, pictured here, offers a spot to arrange your flowers or just get out of the sun for a bit.
The Sweet Pea Shack is a darling little place to sit and watch the butterflies, birds, and bees while enjoying the incredible scent of sweet pea flowers.
The Crib is the farm’s signature structure, which you can see from Highway 91. It sits in the midst of the Field of Dreams: 2,400 feet of flowerbed rows where nearly 30 types of wildflowers grow.
While we could go on and on about this delightful destination, we think that the farm’s owners sum it up perfectly: VVF is not about the flowers, it's about the experience. It's seeing all the flowers, the view, nature. The flowers picked will be gone in two weeks; the experience is what we want people to remember.
