The Sunrises At Glacier National Park In Montana Are Worth Waking Up Early For

There's no denying that Montana has the best sunsets on the planet. After all, we are known as Big Sky Country. But if you wake up early enough to catch the sunrise, you know that they're pretty spectacular as well. Ask 100 different Montanans for their favorite sunrise spot and you're likely to get 100 different answers. But truly, there is nothing quite like sunrise at Glacier National Park.

Glacier National Park is basically the Crown Jewel of the Continent, to put it mildly.

Our million-acre national park is a national treasure, and we're so lucky to have it in our backyard.

From late spring to mid-autumn, the park stays packed with locals and tourists exploring, although the park is so massive that you'll rarely see a crowd.

But in the early morning light, everything feels silent and serene.

If you're staying at one of the park's hotels or camping, catching a sunrise will be a breeze.

But even if you're not staying at the park, it's worth it to get up before dawn and make your way here.

Whether you choose to find one of Glacier's signature lakes or simply watch from Going-to-the-Sun Road, you'll be absolutely awestruck.

As the sun slowly emerges over the horizon, it bathes the park in pink, orange, and golden hues.

The sunrise happens quickly, but if you have any photography skills, you'll want to document it.

Parts of the experience will look more like an oil painting than a photograph.

Since 1910, Montana has been fortunate enough to have this magnificent dedicated space for us to fish, hike, swim, camp, and explore.

You'll never run out of things to do at Glacier. And if you start your day at sunrise, you'll get a great head start.
